When you book an RF microneedling appointment, the treatment penetrates deeply into lower layers of skin to encourage volume in specific areas. By adding volume to certain areas of skin, particularly in the face, this treatment can help patients achieve a more masculine or feminine appearance. This treatment can also be effective for hyperhidrosis in the face or underarm areas. This procedure is safe for all skin types, and we offer pretreatment with topical creams to minimize discomfort and prevent any possible hyperpigmentation.
While we request that patients come with a clean face to microneedling treatment appointments, our technicians will cleanse the skin again prior to treatment to prevent infections. We may also apply a topical cream if needed. Then, we use the device to deliver the radiofrequency waves deep within your skin. At the end of the session, we apply another cream to help stimulate cell growth and regeneration.
Most patients tolerate our microneedling sessions fairly well. Patients can expect some discomfort, but with the cooling effects of an anesthetic cream, any pain would be minimal. We recommend keeping ice packs on hand to assuage any discomfort post-treatment. Patients should also apply extra sunscreen for several weeks, as the skin will be more sensitive following the treatments.
Treatments can take between 20-30 minutes depending on your treatment area.
Recovery is about 24 hours. Most pain and swelling should fade by the next day.
You can expect to see results within 3-6 months of treatment.
